The respected London-based Clarksons predicts a $26 billion investment in new vessels to serve the offshore wind industry within the decade. Installation vessels and support vessels both will make up a large portion of newbuilds in the coming years. The uptick in government contracts for large scale offshore wind programs may create new deal opportunity to finance and charter the new vessels in construction. Industry growth is projected to continue along a rapid incline as offshore wind becomes an increasingly feasible and desirable source of global energy.
